PHUKET’S main bus terminal is set to move into a flash new home.
The department of Land Transportation will build a brand new terminal in Thepkrasatri Road, opposite the Supercheap shopping centre.
An initial budget of 80 million baht has been allocated to the project, and the nine-rai of land has already been purchased.
Kanogwan Limprasert, from Phuket’s Provincial Academic office of transportation said the project had been approved.
She said the new bus station was due to open in November this year.
“The current bus station, which is on two-rai of land in Phang Nga Rd in Phuket City, will remain open for local service public transport routes and will remain under the administration of Phuket City Municipality,” she said.
