Songkran (Thai New Year), also known as the Water Festival is held during the driest months in Thailand.
Songkran is celebrated by Thais throughout the country by pouring – traditionally only a little, but these days a lot – of water on other people to wish them good luck for the New Year. The three days of Songkran are public holidays.

Visakha Bucha Day is observed on the day of the full moon during the 6th lunar month, which usually falls in either May or early June. It is a day to commemorate three important incidents, the birth, the enlightenment and the death of the Buddha.
Miraculously, these events all occurred during the same month and on the same date in the Buddhist era.
It is a public holiday in Thailand.
